You may be wondering…

As much as I would love to claim pasta as an Italian invention, it was the Chinese who invented the first form of noodles.

Marco Polo brought it back over from one of his many travels and the rest, of course, it’s history.

There is such a thing as a free wine fountain indeed! In the Abruzzo region, more specifically in the small town of Caldari di Ortona, you will be able to find a red wine fountain open 24 hours a day.

Gently provided by the Dora Sarchese winery, the fountain it’s meant to provide a mean to quench the thirst of those taking the Cammino di San Tommaso pilgrimage.

Alfredo was indeed a real person: Alfredo di Lelio, an Italian restaurateur, created Fettuccine Alfredo in 1908.

After his wife had given birth to their first son that year, she did not have an appetite. To help encourage her to eat, he created a dish of noodles, cheese and butter. Alas, this is not what we call it in Italy – if anything, it does not have a name!

The short answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT. And I wouldn’t even ask as a joke to a random Italian person because people do tend to get quite offended by cream and carbonara in the same phrase.

If there was a pasta religion, for Italians, Carbonara would be the main deity, the one to rule them all.

Oh, to eat spaghetti and meatballs at the back of a restaurant is such a romantic picture, right? Not. At. All. And not only we’re talking about two dogs being served at the back of the said restaurant, spaghetti and meatballs is really not a thing in Italy.

While in the Disney department though, you will most definitely be able to eat trenette al pesto just like Luca, Alberto and Giulia eat in Luca.

DRUM ROLL – There are more than 600 shapes of pasta, and each single one of them is specifically designed to pair with a specific sauce too.

Variety is the spice of life, am I right?! From gnocchi sardi to rigatoni, to ciriole and even spaghetti, a sauce for all and even more!
